Bill, Dane and I attended another great Mule Deer Foundation banquet! We were able to attend as guests of Wood Brothers Field Service. Wood Brother Field Service is based out of Las Vegas and has been a supporter of the Mule Deer Foundation for years. We had a great time and enjoyed the evening with fellow hunters and firearm enthusiasts. During the banquet we had the opportunity to catch up with friends we don’t get to see often enough. I was delighted to visit with Larry, Randy and Kevin. This year the banquet was held at the Santa Fe Casino off North Rancho Drive. The venue was excellent and the food was filling and hardy!
This year, just like last year there was quite a few rifles up for grabs. The door prize for attending the banquet was a Henry .22 rifle! Many of the rifles were on the raffle table and some could be won by participating in different games. The poker hand game came down to the wild card which was auctioned off so contestants had the opportunity to bolster their hand. The winning hand was a royal flush with the wild card! On the raffle table were two pistols, a .38 special revolver and 9mm Kel-Tec. The Mule Deer Foundation raffled off thousands of dollars worth of gear. The prizes ranged from optics to firearm cleaning sets.
Many incredible guided hunts were available during the live auction. These hunts are great opportunities to harvest an incredible animal. Some of the attendees of the banquet have experience with many of the outfitters and can offer feedback. The hunts available at the banquet are an incredible value. The price they can be had for are well under the going rate! These are first class outfitters with amazing amenities to enhance your hunting experience.
The money raised at the banquet will go toward supporting the Mule Deer Foundations mission of improving and preserving mule deer habitats here in Southern Nevada.
